The Necklace Name: Lior Assor

Summary

This story talks about a poor, pretty and charming young lady named Matilda.
Matilda was born into a family of clerks. She belongs to the middle class.
And as one of the middle class she got married to a petty clerk in the office of the board of education.
Her life was full with sadness and misery.
She suffered incessantly, feeling herself born for all delicacies and luxuries.

One day her husband returned home with a small surprise: an invitation for a ball.
Instead of being delighted, as her husband had hoped, she was unhappy.
Matilda had nothing to wear for the special occasion. So her husband gave her a little sum of money that he had saved so that she
could buy herself a new dress for the important evening.

The big day had almost arrived and Matilda felt that something was missing.
She needed a jewel to wear on with the new dress.
They already spend their money on the dress and they had no more money to spend.
Then her husband came out with an idea: She could borrow a jewel from her rich friend Mrs. Forestier. And so she did.

The day of the ball arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Loisel were a great success. She was the prettiest of all, elegant, gracious, smiling and
full of joy.
They danced and had a lot of fun and they stayed until the next morning.
When they finally got home they were so tired, but then Matilda discovered that the necklace she had borrowed was missing!
Matilda and her husband looked for the missing jewel all over but they couldn't find it.

The next day Matilda and her husband went to a couple of stores to find a necklace similar to the original one.
When they finally found such a necklace they were amazed by the high price.
So they took some loans from different sources and bought the new necklace.

A few years later, when Mrs. Loisel took a walk in the park, she saw her old friend Mrs. Forestier walking with a little child. She
was till young and pretty. Matilda was insecure but after a few seconds she approached her and asked her if she still remembered
her. It took Mrs. Forestier a few seconds until she managed to recognize her. Then Matilda told her what she had gone through
to return her necklace. She was in shock because the necklace had been a fake one.
